Rajewal alleges that election symbol was not found because of AAP and BJP, SSM candidates filed independent nominations
The Samyukta Samaj Morcha of 22 farmer organisations, which entered punjab politics, has not been registered as a political party. The Election Commission has not registered the front. Balbir Singh Rajewal of the Morcha alleged that his party could not be registered because of the Aam Aadmi Party and the BJP.
Rajewal said he had applied twice to the Election Commission that candidates were being fielded in 117 seats in Punjab. So, a common election symbol should be given, which is our constitutional right. The Election Commission has pushed with the organisation by rejecting the application, raising questions on the neutrality of the Commission as well. He said the Aam Aadmi Party and the BJP, through their lawyers, opposed his application. On the last day, the chief minister of the morcha, Rajewal and other candidates have filed their nominations as independent candidates.
Rejected the cup plate of the ally party
Earlier, it was being considered that the Sanyukt Samaj Morcha candidates could contest the elections on the cup plate, the symbol of their ally, the United Struggle Front. But there has been no agreement on this. It has now been decided that all independents will file their nomination papers as candidates. It is also being said that Rajewal did not want him to fight on the symbol of farmer leader Gurnam Singh Chaduni's Samyukta Sangharsh Morcha, in such a situation, the farmers of Punjab will be directly under the leader of Haryana.
There may be a loss of filing nominations on the last day.
Today is the last day for filing of nominations. If there is any mistake in filling the papers while filing the nomination today, then there will be no chance to rectify it. The process of withdrawal of nomination papers is to begin from February 2. Therefore, the delayed decision may harm the front and it will definitely have an impact on the votes received. This may result in rejection of the papers of many candidates.
